Comments: Those of you who are familiar with the Ricardo Velarde story already know that he had two of the finest knife making mentors on the planet. Steve Johnson was Ricardo’s early mentor, followed by a year in Dietmar Kressler’s shop learning to make flawless integrals.

Ricardo has done both of his mentors proud with this Ultra-rare fully integral Loveless style Pro Hunter. The bolsters features Ricardo’s trade-mark satin and high polish banding, and the grips are made from perfectly matched presentation grade Fossil Mammoth which is contoured in a pleasing shape to fit the hand.

A rare and wonderful knife with very complex grinds all sorts of interesting details by one of today’s top integral masters.

Comments: Many of you have seen the chapter on Conny Persson and his incredible Damascus knives in the first David Darom book on the worlds finest fixed blade makers. The good news is that Conny Persson’s work is actually affordable, the bad news is that his knives are nearly impossible to find! This tasty Leuku Clip-point has many of the Persson hallmarks, which include incredible Mosaic Damascus on the blade, bolster and butt cap, as well as a wonderful shape and a great feeling in the hand.

This knife is a Conny Persson masterpiece.

You will not want to let it go!

Comments: This is another one of John W. Smith’s Premium folders. As you probably know, John is a true sole-author, which means he forges and blues his own Damascus and does all of his own engraving.

This beautiful clip-point has the works, including nicely filed and color anodized titanium liners, a rope-filed
Damascus back-spring and absolutely magnificent presentation-grade Black-lip Pearl scales.

Then there is the engraving. This beauty has all four bolsters and back-strap engraved with
24carat gold. Other special details include gold screws and a solid gold thumb-stud to complement the gold and blue colors in the rest of the knife.

John’s name is engraved and gold-filled at the base of the blade, and the back-strap has even been engraved
on the inside of the knife! It doesn’t get much better than this!


Comments: This wonderful brand new Frank Lloyd Wright Tribute Clip is one of our favorite Barry Davis models. It has a lovely shape complimented by outstanding presentation-grade Mother of Pearl scales, and just seems to melt into the hand. The Abalone, Gold-lip Pearl and Silver Wire Inlays are meant to reference one of Frank Lloyd Writes stunning stained glass windows.

The execution is flawless, the knife opens and closes like a dream and has gold pins and a gold blade release to boot. It simply doesn’t have a bad angle!

The liners are expertly filed in perfect proportion to the rest of the custom knife, and the back spring is filed as well.

The bolsters have been carved into the shape of bricks and look stunning.

Barry Davis is one of our favorite makers, and we think this is the finest folder he has ever made!

Comments: What can you say about this remarkable Michael Walker knife? Well to start they are among the most rare and most desirable of all custom knives. You can also say they have remarkable design features and flawless workmanship. Better yet, you can say that they look and feel great in the hand.

This Michael Walker Rare Titanium Walker Fatty with an ATS-34 blade and the bolsters and frame are of color anodized Titanium with that ultra-rare Walker Zipper Bolster and Scales. We have seen a lot of Walkers over the last 20 years, but never one quite like this!

Naturally it opens and closes perfectly smoothly and has the solid feel of a fine Swiss watch. This is the also one of the nicest looking Walkers we have seen. Simply put – no modern collection of hand-made custom knives is complete without one! Go ahead and treat yourself!

Walker started as a jeweler, until his wife, Patricia Walker, gave him a Gerber knife and a copy of American Blade Magazine.  He noticed the similarities between his jewelry and the custom art knives and decided he would try his luck with knife making. Walker patented or trademarked over 20 different mechanisms for locks and composite cutting blades on pocketknives.


Comments: This Long-bolstered Folding Dagger is one of our favorite Barry Davis models. It has a lovely shape complimented by outstanding presentation grade Black-lip pearl scales, and just seems to melt into the hand. The execution is flawless and the knife opens and closes like a dream. And it simply doesn’t have a bad angle. The solid gold liners are are in perfect proportion to the rest of the knife, and the back spring is rope filed as well. Gold pins and Spacers, as well as a solid gold Bale and Toothpick complete this elegant package.

This knife is really a value and could not be duplicated today for this price.

Barry Davis is one of our favorite makers, and this wonderful folder demonstrates why.

However, the waiting list for a Barry Davis knife is 18 months. Among the owners of his work are A-list movie stars, rock ‘n’ rollers and top-level government officials.

Barry Davis said, “A knife is a palette for my artistic expression. I think of the knives as pieces of artwork that are also tools.”

Comments: At this point what more can you say about Bob Loveless, that he was the most influential knife maker ever, that he was a living legend and more – yes, but even more importantly, Bob was one hell of a knife maker!

This is the hard to find Caper Finn model with improved handle and Black Linene Micarta scales.

Made in Riverside CA these knives are much less common than the familiar Classic Drop-point.

It has the Classic Loveless Football logo and the original leather sheath.

Own this knife and own a piece of a true legend. No serious modern custom knife collection is complete without at least one of Bob’s knives, and the Caper Finn is a great knife it you already have a Loveless Drop!

Antonio was one of the remarkable custom knife artists featured in David Darom’s very first book on the very finest folding knives.

Antonio’s fit and finish are astonishing and stand comparison to best folding and fixed blade inter-frames made anywhere in
the world. The action of the folder is silky smooth, and the overall workmanship is truly superb.
