Comments: Knifemaker Van Barnett certainly needs no introduction as he has been a member of the Art Knife Invitational (AKI) the most elite group of knife makers on the planet for many years.

Here we have a very fine example of sole authorship with steel, finishing, and stone setting all by the maker. This knife we call Black Hawk is a prototype for a totally new direction for Van.

The front and rear bolsters are composed of 16 separate pieces of carved Damascus and the rubies are set in 14K yellow gold collars. There are also gold pins and a 14K gold thumb stud as well.

The gold anodized titanium liners along with the fully filled backspacer perfectly complement the exceptional presentation grade black-lip pearl scales. And finally, the knife opens and closes with the smoothness of a fine swiss watch.
