Comments: At this point it's pretty much a given that Steve Johnson makes the finest traditional stock-removal custom knives on the planet. And this model is one of Steve's most interesting, a classic Loveless style Stiff Horn. .

It has beautifully matched scales of outstanding presentation grade Mother of Pearl. And of course the grind, fit and finish are just what you would expect from the best - simply flawless!

The knife has been superbly engraved in 24k Gold by Master Gun Engraver Barry Hands. The engraving is very sculptural and is clearly raised above the surface of the knife in a style which perfectly compliments this elegant Johnson.

Barry calls this "Inductive layout", as the leaves determine the stem locations, a method he found by observing classical Greek design. The background is in Barry's distinctive" Black Satin" finish, a perfect compliment to the 24k Gold ornament.

No serious collection of modern traditional fixed-blade custom knives is complete without at least one Steve Johnson. Don't let this classic slip by!
