Comments: We are very proud to introduce our first knives from our newest "Featured Maker" Canadian Stephanie Lemelin. Please read more about her and her knife making philosophy by selecting "Featured Maker" from our Menu Bar.
Stephanie is a member of the Canadian Knife Maker’s Guild and has presented her art knives at the Toronto and Atlanta Blade Shows this past year. See is also featured in the newest David Darom book currently in the works. This much anticipated new volume is focused on exceptional female knife makers from around the world.
Fascinated by nature and ancient civilizations, much of Stephanie's work involves recreating the beauty she sees around us, as well as creating something entirely new by re-interpreting what once was. She likes to work on concept, creating a design that tells a story as well as one that will evoke a mixture between the past and the future.
This exceptional knife is called "The Phoenix Tail". The handle is crafted out of Maple-burl, bronze and silver, while the Sterling Silver Feathers are studded with blue Sapphires. This form blends fluidly into the blade, which is made of CPM-154 stainless steel. The hand-made sheath is of fine leather and is decorated with bronze, silver - the Phoenix itself is carrying a sapphire.
Currently Stephanie is hoping to create 7-9 totally unique knives each year, and we simply can't wait to see the next one!
