Comments: Most of you will not be familiar with talented Sole-author Simone Raimondi as he only does one show in America. But this native of Rome Italy will not remain the eternal city's well kept secret for long!
A dedicated smith who forges all his own Mosaic Damascus Steel, Simone has been a full time knife maker for 5 years and cites Roger Bergh and Larry Fuegen as the knife makers who've influenced him the most.
A master of detail and finesse, Simone is a gifted artist who has an extremely refined design sense which shows up in his clean shapes and in the variety of materials and textures combined with great effect in his knives.
Given to using exotic woods which he textures and carves to great effect, Simone also uses fine silver liberally to add interest and a sense of richness to each creation.
Winner of the "Best Damascus Knife" Award at the Canadian Guild Show in 2010, we think this maker has a bright future.
