Comments: By now most custom knife collectors know the story of how materials from the World Trade Center tragedy became a very small number of exceptional knives by masters Steve Johnson, Dietmar Kressler and Ron Lake. A total of eight knives were made by Dietmar and eight by Ron Lake - but only seven by Steve Johnson. This piece is the Lake contribution to the set.
The bolsters are nickel-coated Aircraft Aluminum colored to resemble the outside of the towers. The small I-beam is made from a section of one of the large Tower beams, and the Bronze scale material came from the Globe Sphere that was located in the Tower Plaza. That sphere is now in Battery Park. The Bolt Heads have eight notches, one for each building lost and one for the Sphere!
Needless to say this is an extremely unique opportunity recognize the sacrifice of so many on September 11th 2001, and to have a special masterpiece by one of the finest artists on the planet. Feel free to call for more details.
