Comments: A long time member of the prestigious Art Knife Invitational (AKI), Ron and his famous dad Ray make some of the most unique and highly sought after knives on the planet.
Each one is an extraordinary adventure in knife making, and there is simply nothing like them anywhere. And given the that there are thousands of knife makers spread across the globe, this is a truly remarkable achievement.
This knife, called "Merlin", fresh from the 2013 AKI, was created by Ron Appleton. It features the Appleton Multi-lock System, and is simply stunning!
The detail on the blade, frame and pivot is extraordinary and could only be realized by a true master craftsman. And the Apache Gold inlay material is extremely rare.
Here are the details in Ron's Words:
Merlin is a full size, rotating button multi- mechanism knife. Blade material is S-7 Shockproof tool steel, hardened, Cryo treated, tempered to 59RC and mirror polished. Both handle halves are S-7 tool steel hardened, Cryo treated, tempered and mirror polished. Buttons are 416 Stainless, hardened and polished and rotate in Nickel Aluminum Bronze cages.
This is a one of a kind piece and a must have for the serious Appleton collector! Don't miss your chance to own a famous knife with an impeccable pedigree!
