Comments: A long time member of the prestigious Art Knife Invitational (AKI), Ron and his famous dad Ray make some of the most unique and highly sought after knives on the planet. Each one is an extraordinary adventure in knife making, and there is simply nothing like them anywhere. And given the that there are thousands of knife makers spread across the globe, this is a truly remarkable achievement.
This knife, called "Chub", was created by Ron especially for the first David Darom Book on Custom Folding Knives. It is pictured on Page 62. It has a blade of 52100 steel forged and hardened by noted knife maker Ed Fowler. Ed supplied the Horn handle from one of his own sheep as well! This knife also features the Appleton Lower IQ lock System, and the Buttons are made of a Beryllium-Copper alloy.
Ron wanted to create a folding knife that would stand up to the rigors of use the way a fixed blade would, so he made the entire frame from a single piece of 6AL4V Titanium, which he said was really a bear to machine! And from what we can see the results were well worth it.
Don't miss your chance to own a famous knife with an impeccable pedigree!
