Generally Jim's knives were large and beefy, like the man, and this knife is no exception. Called Black Flag and finished in 1997, this is the finest example of a two-blade Triple-bolster Schmidt we've ever seen. It is pictured in the fantastic book about Jim Schmidt created by master photographer Francesco Pachi.
Here are all of the classic Schmidt details - the famous shape, the bold Damascus, the great back-filing and the wonderful bail. The liners are artfully filed in just the right proportion and the Presentation-grade Black-lip Pearl scales are superb. The knife is topped off with a forged bail and gold pins to hold the scales. Every Schmidt is rare, but two blade Schmidt knives are like Unicorns!
Pass up this masterpiece and you may never see another!
