Comments: As many of you already know Jim Schmidt, along with Bill Moran, was one of the early makers who helped re-introduce Damascus steel to the general public. Jim's knives are exceptionally rare and have risen in value steadily since his early death in 2000.

It is also believed that Jim never produced more than 12 knives a year at his peak, which makes Schmidt knives among the most rare and most prized collectibles in the universe of custom knives. Recent estimates by knowledgeable sources suggest there may be no more than 225 Schmidt folding knives in existence.

This Amber Window Pane Schmidt with Fleur de Lies is called Shadows Dancing, and all of the classic Jim Schmidt details are here‚ including the standout frame shape, intricately filed liners, back-filed blade and functional bale. This is the finest example of this model we have ever seen and it was made for the 1992 AKI!

A world-class example of Sole Authorship through and through.

Truly a rare and wonderful item - the perfect centerpiece for any classic folding knife collection.
