Comments: A stunning Art Dagger by veteran American maker Herman Schneider. Herman knives are hard to come by, especially one with such a fine pedegree. This superb dagger, engraved and carved by high-relief Master Ron Skagg, is pictured in Jim Weyer’s Points of Interest Book Volume 4 and will no doubt be familiar to many collectors.
The artfully ground and flawlessly polished blade is fully engraved by Ron Skaggs and the Pommel is cast from yellow gold. The handle, made from presentation-grade fossil mammoth, is artfully flutted and compliments the overall shape and detailing of the dagger perfectly.
This classically proportioned gem practically defines the words “Art Knife” and would make superb world-class addition to any fine collection of modern custom knives. And just as an aside, you won’t be able to put the damn thing down! I know that I can’t!
