The Curly Maple handle is wonderfully inlaid with silver wire scrolls that nicely compliment the nickel-silver guard. Jay believes there is nothing like traditional forging to add tremendous strength, toughness and sharpness to the finished blade.
In the process he uses special controlled forging and heat treating techniques to ensure the quality and durability of the finished product. Jay is a true sole author, and that means everything is made in his shop. In this case it’s fully carved Curly Maple with fine silver wire scrolls and a nickel-silver escutcheon.
