Comments: At this point what can more can you say about Bob Loveless, that he was the most influential knife maker ever, that he was a legend and more - yes, but even more importantly, Bob was one hell of a knife maker!
This knife may well be the most important Loveless knife ever made. It is the first ever Sub-hilt and is marked #9 of the first 25 knives Bob sold to Abercrombie and Fitch right after he left the Merchant Marine Services.
The first six knives were single guard hunters, the seventh and eighth knives were single guard clip-points and then came this knife - Sub-hilts were the top-of-the-line then and always the most costly. Several years ago an engraved Bowie from 1957 sold for around $200,000 and some folks believe this Sub-hilt is a more important knife than the bowie!
Be that as it may, this is an extraordinary once in a life time opportunity to acquire the first Loveless Sub Hilt ever made - truly extraordinary.
And as a great man once said - in the end there can be only one!
The knife is complete with a Brass parry bar on top of the blade as well as the original Black Horsehide Sheath with Pocket Sharpening Stone.
Don't let this one slip away!
