Guillaume Ducasse

Guillaume Ducasse was born and continues to live in a small village in the southwest of France. He began making folding knives driven by a love for challenge and hands-on creativity.

His early exposure to knife shows led him to discover the world of art knives featuring mechanical complications, a field he has since made his specialty. Ducasse draws inspiration from the history of cutlery, the Bauhaus movement, and the broader world of art. Working in a modest workshop equipped only with basic hand tools, without CNC machines or pantographs, he emphasizes the mechanical function as the core of the folding knife, ensuring that each design prioritizes efficiency and practicality.

He favors durable materials such as stainless steel, mother-of-pearl, seashell, and composites, carefully crafting each piece to balance strength, beauty, and technical precision. Guillaume’s first major appearance was at the Coutellia knife show in France, and he has been a full-time knifemaker since 2018. While he has no formal mentor, he draws inspiration from legendary makers such as Walker, Steinau, Lake, and Appleton. Through his work, Ducasse continues to push the boundaries of mechanical folding knife design, earning admiration from collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
