Comments: As many of you know, Colorado knife maker Richard Hodgson was one of of the most highly regarded knife makers ever to produce folders. He spent most of his career working for NASA making one of-a-kind high-precision parts for spacecraft, and he made knives on the side until his premature death several years ago. Hodgson's fit and finish were second to none, and he was especially well known for his innovative bearings, fasteners and release mechanisms.
A maker who was highly regarded by his peers, Hodgson was also a member of the prestigious Art Knife Invitational (AKI) and did not make very many knives by today's standards, although exactly how many he did make remains unclear. Always tough to find during his lifetime, these remarkable folders have become even more difficult to obtain since his death.
Amazingly the escutcheon on this knife is fully integral with the frame and is beautifully complimented by presentation-grade mother of pearl. We are proud to offer this exquisite and unique piece for the very discriminating custom knife collector.
